NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Warriors FCs Oswaldo Calindres

October 10, 2019 – Los Angeles – Warriors FC forward Oswaldo Calindres has been selected UPSL National Player of the Week.

Born in El Salvador, Calindres scored five goals in a 5-5 draw against USA Soccer Stars in a UPSL 2019 Fall Season Western Conference SoCal North Division II game on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019. Calindres played 90 minutes as Warriors FC (3-2-0 overall) stayed atop the table.

Calindres graduated from Hollywood (Calif.) High School, and is his third season with Warriors FC. He currently has 10 goals in five games this season.

The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL, and decided by the fans via Twitter poll.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL national minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
